New Song - Drifter (Cindy L Spear & Colin Mold)

This is another new song, but more acoustic in style, that accompanies a story I have written (later to be revealed). (Hint: a shipwrecked sailor dealing with memory loss.) Music, vocals and video created and performed by UK’s multi-instrumentalist Colin Mold. Lyrics are mine. Hope you enjoy!

DRIFTER

Veins are blue roadmaps on a journey to somewhere

Under lost stars and their shimmering hues,

Longing leads homeward, for a heart that is suffering

To capture old loves and dreams that prove true

Over the wilderness of trials and experience

Moonlight spills softly on tree and white stone

Tall ships afloat on the tides of the changes

Luring back bloodlines of a gypsy unknown

Across the Atlantic and pebbled dark sand bar

A break of bright foam as white meadow falls—

Memories of passion and sweet gilded summers—

Awaken now hearts in the quake of its call.

Come to the waters and find your beginnings

Where the wild goose flies free and the shamrocks still grow

The call of the past rises up through the ruins

To awaken the drifter’s heart from its hold
