Like many, I love Prince Edward Island (PEI), the birthplace of beloved author Lucy Maud Montgomery of the Anne of Green Gables collection. I am from the neighbouring province of New Brunswick (though I live far away in Australia now) but I have visited this special place a number of times and been deeply inspired. Of course, being who I am, I had to write a lyric about this wonderful isle and it has been set to music by the gifted UK composer Colin Mold. Maud’s life and books have influenced my own writing greatly which is why the first book of my historical trilogy is set on PEI. There’s no better place than Canada’s smallest and greenest isle for my characters to have an exciting summer adventure! But that’s a story for another day…📖

Along with this new song, I would also like to introduce a gifted photographer. It is wonderful when you meet others with common interests or as Maud would say, Kindred Spirits. A few years back I bumped into Bernadeta Milewski on Twitter. We shared a common interest in the Anne of Green Gables author, books and island. Bernadeta lives in the United States (but is from Poland) and has a holiday home on PEI. She has contributed much in promoting Maud’s works and her beloved island. Bernadeta’s photos have been used by PEI Tourism and you will see why in my video. She has wonderfully captured the beauty and heart of PEI.
