Note: A writer new to me that I stumbled upon in my search of Irish fiction. Inspired by the stunning sea and landscapes of Kerry in Ireland, Susanne O’Leary writes many stories based around this gorgeous backdrop. She is published by Bookouture, in the UK and has over thirty books in the e-book and paperback market worldwide. She writes mainly women's fiction, some chick-lit, some contemporary romance, with two historical novels and four detective stories mixed in the lot. I will be doing a feature on Susanne in late August and will discuss her novels and journey as an author.

I finished reading the very gorgeous romantic The Lost Girls of Ireland (Book 1 of the new Starlight Cottage Series) by Susanne O’Leary about redemption and starting over. I absolutely loved it from start to finish (actually I did not want it to end!). Such a beautiful, flawless, uplifting story that flowed from one page to the next. The plot, like waves on a shore, drew me in, not only to its edges but also pulled me into its swirling blue depths of sea. It also certainly helped that it is set in my favourite country! But Susanne does an exquisite job of taking you back to this magical place of wonder and wild rugged splendour.
The Lost Girls of Ireland is graced with 'real' flesh and blood characters you adopt into your heart immediately. Yes, they take you into their world and on their journey of dreams and hopes. And you are right beside them as they learn how to deal with, and heal from, the pain of heartbreak and betrayal. For they are 'saved' through their encounters with certain people and emotional land/seascapes. Here on new turf, unlikely friendships are forged. Freed hearts rise out of the ashes of grief. And true healing begins on the pathway to honesty.
Although this is my first Susanne O'Leary book, it won't be my last, for I know with certainty I will be filling my shelves with more of her touching stories!
